A typical day at Manor Road Cooperative Nursery School
Arrival and free play: The children and duty day parents arrive. Children are free to play in our gross motor skill area.
Creative Time: The children are encouraged to partake in the interest centres, such as our listenting centre,
dramatic play, art centre. Small groups work with teachers at the creative arts centre. Children are encouraged to
assist in tidying before moving to a new activity.
Story Time & Circle Time: Children choose a book and read quietly until Circle time, in which children sing songs,
learn about the theme of the week, discuss the weather and calendar.
Washroom time. The children are assisted with toileting and hand washing before snack.
Snack time: A healthy snack is provided and served at the snack tables. Children are expected to tidy away their
own snack dishes.
Outdoor Play: Weather permitting, the children go outside to play in our playground.
Self help in dressing is always encouraged. If it is too rainy or cold, the children play in the gym.
Dismissal
In addition to the above program we offer Music Education that allows the children to participate in songs,
play musical instruments, as well as Sport Ball which introduces them to a variety of different sports in a
non-competitive play-based atmosphere. These activities occur on various days through the month. |
